Privacy Policy

Universe Atlas is an offline reference app. There are no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and no analytics — and the app makes no network calls at all. Everything you create stays on your device, and everything the app knows about the universe ships inside the app bundle.
What we do NOT collect
- No personal identifiers, no advertising identifiers (IDFA), no fingerprinting.
- No analytics, no crash reporters, no third-party SDKs of any kind.
- No cookies and no web tracking (the app contains no web views and no browser traffic).
- No location, camera, photos, microphone, contacts, motion, or notification access — the app requests no system permissions whatsoever.
- No data sent to us or to any third party: the app has no backend and performs no network requests, so nothing leaves your phone.
What stays on your device
If you choose to use these features, the following content is written to the app's own sandboxed storage on your iPhone and never uploaded anywhere:
- Observation logs and notes you write;
- Galaxy simulator blueprints and nebula designs you save;
- Journey plans (waypoint routes) you create;
- Bookmarks / saved items;
- Preferences: distance unit and display language.
This data is removed when you delete the app. You can also erase it at any time from Archive → Settings → Erase all data; erasing clears your content and resets the distance unit, and keeps your chosen display language.
Sky visibility and science content
The “Tonight” visibility ranking and all other science content are computed on your device from a catalog bundled with the app. You pick the hemisphere and date manually in the app — no location permission is requested and no coordinates are transmitted anywhere. Simulators (galaxy rotation curves, relativistic flight, cosmic timeline) are simplified educational models, not research-grade instruments.
Ratings
After satisfying moments the app may show Apple's built-in rating prompt
(the system StoreKit review sheet). Whether and how you rate the app is handled
entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy terms; we receive only anonymous, aggregate ratings
from the App Store. No purchase flow exists — the app is free with no in-app purchases.
Third parties and attribution
None. All illustrations and plate artwork are original artwork bundled with the app; no imagery, map, geocoding, or weather service is queried.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. There is no account, no chat, and no user-generated content sharing.
Changes
If our practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects nothing, any future change would be additive and will be stated here plainly before it ships.
